23/04/12 - A great weekend was had by all at Whitstable, with racing in very changeable conditions to say the least! Though lead by Will Thompson and Catherine Farthing on Day 1, it was Dan Norman and Mel Rogers who took the title, closely followed by David Lloyd and Hayley Smith, with Will and Catherine finishing 3rd ...Full Results. Our thanks go out to Whitstable YC for organising a great event (even if we were a little slow on the uptake for Karaoke!). See you all at Datchet...it's Barry's 50th you know!

23/09/11 - UK Dart sailors wish farewell to the Kernicks emigrating to South Africa. Having achieved this year the Dart equivalent of the Grand Slam (TT Circuit Winners, National Champions and World Champions), this top team will be missed on the UKIDA circuit. We hope to meet them again defending their title at Puntala Italy.
31/08/11 - After 4 days with winds at both extremities of the Dart sailing envelope, David Lloyd and Will Sherwood are victorious at the French National Championships, La Rochelle. Joining them on the podium were fellow Brits, Dave and Louise Roberts in 2nd place, and Thierry and Christine Wibaux in 3rd place.

09/12/10 - Have you received your winter edition of the Art of Dart Magazine? If not please check that Sally has your correct details. And if you have been sat by the fire, away from the freezing snow, reading your Art of Dart you may have noticed the printing error. GP6 to be held at Instow Yacht Club, North Devon was missing from the events list, but don't despair the details are on our Events page, as are the dates for the Teach-in which have now been confirmed as 26-27 March.
15/11/10 - With the end of another fantastic year on the Dart circuit, congratulations go to the winners of the 2010 TT Series, Dan Norman and Mel Rogers, beating 2nd place Alan and Fiona Kernick on countback with equal 7 points. Showing just how closely fought this competition was, 3rd place Mat Exon with Yvette Barnes/Helen Jones were only 2 points behind. David Lloyd and Joanna Jones-Pierce follow in 4th place with 11 points, just holding off Marco Manganelli and Rachel Foster in 5th place with 12 points. Most improved Helm (on handicap) goes to Joe Franks.

24/08/10 - All racing today at the 2010 World Championships was postponed due to strong winds.
23/08/10 - Race 1 was started, and after 2 laps the committee boat moved to the windward mark to shorten the course in the deteriorating conditions. Unfortunately the race officer had to abandon the race as all safety boats were involved in rescue procedures and there was a continuing stream of boats in difficulty. More details on the chat page.
22/08/10 - A late entry from the Dutch this evening made 131 entries, eagerly waiting for the first races to start tomorrow. The race officer braved the rain to set a course for the practice race, unfortunately the wind did not get above 3 knots so there was little objection from the competitors when it was cancelled.

10/08/10 - If you are attending the Worlds later this month at Weymouth, please check two important announcements on the Worlds Website regarding National Identification Letters and driving to WPNSA.

10/05/10 - In a closely fought contest, local sailors Dan Norman and Mel Rogers won the 2nd TT of the series at Whitstable YC. Contrasting to last year's event, all 6 races were completed and the competitors even managed to sail the correct number of laps. Results...
04/03/10 - The 2010 Dart18 production one-design boat will be on display this week at the RYA dinghy show 6/7th March Alexander Palace. Dart sailors and association members are welcome to visit the show view the new boat and talk with the Windsport team , Brian Phipps and Ian Fraser.

20/07/09 - Despite the gloomy weather forecast, 28 teams braved the elements to take part in TT5 at Parkstone Yacht Club. Saturday saw good sailing in the bay with strong winds dieing by the end of the third race, Will Thompson and Zander Ozelton leading at the end of the day. Sunday's building winds barely allowed one race to be completed, only nine finished. Paul Wakelin and Rachel Foster just beating Will and Zander on countback. Results...
15/07/09 - Dave and Louise Roberts dazzle the French with their sailing prowess (and their shirts) to win the French National Championships, congratulations. And well done to Ginny Jones-Pierce (age 13) for finishing 2nd with Herve Le Maux in her first Dart open and beating her mum, Jo-Jo, who finished 5th with David Lloyd. Results...
06/07/09 - A superb turnout of 44 boats enjoyed a fantastic weekend of racing at Stokes Bay Sailing Club. The home advantage definitely paid with club boats taking 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Results...

18/05/09 - Thirty eight boats turned up for Whitstable GP, but when sailing was cancelled on Saturday attentions turned to the great party organised for that night. With a band and great food cooked by Julie, everyone had a great time celebrating Tony and Julie's engagement. Sunday had a prompt start with four races scheduled. One race was started, then the fleet were sent ashore as a squall hit, and eventually racing was abandoned. However, in the one race that was started, leader Paul Wakelin decided he’d had enough (or couldn’t count?) and went through the finish line after two laps rather than three, followed by the rest of the fleet, meaning no boat had finished the course. Whitstable awarded prizes for the finishing positions after 2 laps and Handicap prizes were given based on the same result. The jury is out on whether or not this will actually stand as GP result. 05/05/09 - The first Grand Prix of the 2009 season, held at Snettisham Beach, was won by Will Thompson Results.... Based on this form he could be a hot favourite to win the Nationals later this year at his home club, Dee Sailing Club.
