The traditional Dart 18 Teach-in at Grafham Water has unfortunately had to be cancelled this year, but all is not lost! Brian Phipps (top catamaran coach and ex-Dart 18 National Champion) of Windsport has come forward with a rescue package. The result is that the Dart18 2008 Teach-in will be hosted by Windsport's Cat Clinic in Falmouth Cornwall
The location is perfect for catamaran sailing with a wide estuary of flat water with access to open sea sailing.
Two weekend coaching sessions have been arranged:- 19/20th of April "Start Racing" for those new to Dart 18 sailing and looking to start racing in the class at club or open meeting level. 26/27th of April " Develop your Racing Skills" for those currently racing at club and open meeting level but keen to raise their game! The training will be headed-up by long time Dart 18 sailor and international catamaran coach "Brian Phipps". Sailors will have the opportunity to learn need techniques, test out their skills and discuss their own sailing style, via a series of on and off water sessions combined with talks and discussions.
There is a maximum number of teams accepted on each training session, so booking early is recommended. Coaching cost per team are £138.00, and includes two days of coaching, boat trailer and car parking from Friday night to Sunday night. Start time for day one is 10.00am.
